Here at 5WSS, we provide Scouting to young people in and around the town of Woodbridge in East Suffolk. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more.
Scouts prepares young people with skills for life – helping them speak up and play their part. Each week we give over 200 young people aged 4-18 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
We are lucky to be located in the beautiful market town of Woodbridge, on the banks of The River Deben. When tides and weather allow, our young members venture onto the water and under the close supervision of our fully qualified leaders and instructors they get to enjoy time on paddle boards, in pulling boats, kayaks, canoes or in sailing dinghies. When on land, our sections enjoy a varied programme of exciting activities which prepare them with skills for life, whether it be teamwork, leadership and resilience: skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We are affliated to the Royal Navy and part of the wider Scouting community, which helps us to create stronger communities and inspire positive futures.
